M/Y Bystander

Bystander is a 42m motor yacht, purpose built to support the J-Class Velsheda.

Danny has worked on and off with the JK7 Program for years in many different capacities. Starting as a tender driver for regattas, then moving on board as Deckhand, Bosun, Refit Engineer on two major refits (including Lloyds 10yr) and also getting the opportunity to race on Velsheda.

Some of the relevant jobs undertaken in this time were:

• Overseeing removal and reinstallation of all exterior components and fittings for a full paint job

• Overseeing a team of dayworkers to safely carry out routine refit tasks

• Working alongside contractors to ensure timely completion of projects to a high standard

• Servicing and reinstallation of passarelles and folding platforms

• Servicing of engine room valves and manifolds

• Installation of 24v bilge pump system

• Service and reinstallation of tender cranes

• Rewiring of tender

• Removal and reinstallation of main engine exhausts
